Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition 2022
Finalist
The contestants were challenged with an investment decision for that demanded rigorous market research, and financial evaluation on a mixed-use development project located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn New York. The key element was putting together a creative financial plan due to the current investor's lack of financial resources. This concluded in creative financial decisions and market analysis to maximize the investment with compatible tenants for the area site.

International Case Representatives
The 2022 Case Competition consisted of creating an investment decision through market analysis and financial calculation for one of Nyfosa's properties in Västerås. The competition this year focused a lot on a combination of a well-grounded site and property analysis and taking a position on financing arrangement since the property will be partially emptied when the big tenant Alstrom will move out, and take a stand to a possible extension on the property.
2021 / 2022
Undergraduate Real Estate Case Competition (URECC) 2022
First Place and Best Market Research
A 30-day development project case to create a feasible (legally, physically, and financially) development plan located in Brampton, Ontario, near Toronto in Canada. After analyzing the housing market and general market research the competing team (Blue Sky Real Estate) proposed a mixed-use concept with two towers, labeled "Elizabeth Towers”. The building is suited for the local demand and preserves the local architecture.

Finalist
The contestants were challenged with rigorous market research, development planning and financial evaluation on a life-science development project located in the rapidly growing University City, Philadelphia.
The key element was putting together a creative financial plan, unique market research of the area and maximizing the investment with compatible tenants for the future developments in the area.

International Case Representatives
The 2021 Case Competition consisted of creating a market analysis, financial calculation and over all constructions for a plot of an old Fish Market situated in Canary Wharf in central London.
The competition this year focused a lot on a combination of sustainability, creative ways of constructing on the plot and finding the best financial plan.
2020 / 2021
Cornell ICSC Retail Real Estate Case Competition 2021
Second Place
Mid-pandemic, hold/sell analysis of modern shopping centre asset in Bilbao, Spain. The property was part of a larger real estate investment fund near closing. With the property having expiring leases, ongoing abatements, vacant spaces and a globally changing retail industry. The competing teams had to weigh between either selling the property for a low-ball offer or holding the property and selling it in the future.
Undergraduate Real Estate Case Competition (URECC) 2021
Second Place
The 30 day development case was a challenging analysis of a d-zoned land lot in Mississauga, Canada. With an underutilized property, master plans, and general understanding of Torontos housing market all the participants were really tested in their investment proposals. Final product became a vibrant condominium project labeled “Twenty2 Towers'
Expand Your Empire Case Competition 2021
Awarded Most Creative Proposal
Development proposal of historical bus station in CBD Toronto, working with municipality and zoning laws to preserve heritage and achieve social value adding outcomes. The team reached the final round but fell short, resulting in a 4th place finish. Despite this the team was rewarded with an external prize for “Most creative proposal”.
Cornell International Real Estate Case Competition 2020
Finalist
In the 12th Annual Cornell case the contestants were challenged with a high vacancy retail complex in the fictional city of Troy, California. The key element that was assessed was putting together a feasible leasing package to underline fundamental turnaround strategy and maximize investor returns.

International Case Representatives
Investment decision on a property located in an uprising business park Keilaniemi, Espoo. With close proximity to both Helsinki and universities the students were challenged with many components that involved market understanding, financial modelling, assessing development plans and choosing between different financing alternatives.
