ABOUT INTERNATIONAL CASE COMPETITION

One of the most unique opportunities that KTH REC can offer the selected members that win the national competition is a chance to compete on an international level against the world's leading universities in the field of real estate. On the international stage the case format might differ a bit, depending on which university that is hosting the competition. But in general the case format is comparable to the once presented in the national competition.

Looking back at the 2020/21 case competition season was different in many ways. The pandemic hit the world hard and brought down vigorous restrictions on international travel and physical meetings. This put innovation on display, however, and new, digital competition formats were formed in resistance to the vast constraints seen all around the world. Thus, KTH secured several international invitations to prestigious events that would otherwise outweigh the sponsorship travel budget. Competing forcefully in various breakout rooms, utterly dependent on high-speed wifi, mic-checks and robust web cameras, KTH rose to the occasion and put together the University’s most successful season to date; dual silver-medals and $12 500 of prize money.

CORNELL INTERNATIONAL CASE COMPETITION

Given the unusual conditions due to the pandemic KTH Real Estate Club had the ability to participate in more case competitions last year. Based on the various opportunities the club still thinks that the case competitions hosted by Cornell university are the best in its class. Therefore we will keep on prioritising our relationship with Cornell university.

The winning team in the national case competition will therefore get the unique opportunity to travel and represent the organization in the Annual case competition hosted by Cornell University.

Presenting the material in front of leading industry members is both an incredible and challenging experience in terms of presenting skills, dealing with pressure and keeping the composure. Furthermore, the students also receive invaluable feedback from world leading industry professionals in real estate.

The Center of Real Estate and Finance at Cornell is one of the largest and leading faculties in it’s field. With one of the widest and deepest experiences and connections in the industry this is an extraordinary opportunity for the contestants to share knowledge but also create a global network with young professionals and industry leaders.
